About Me

A bit about me...

Hello, my name is Katelyn Truong. I am a freelance illustrator from Toronto, Canada. I specialize in editorial, book, and advertising illustration. I love creating personal works that are reflective of my life, lifestyle, fashion, and local environment as it inspires me accordingly. My favourite colours are pink and green (hence my distinguished colour palette) and I have a whole room and closet dedicated to attesting to that fact. I believe that simple is best, and my process involves immersing myself within the subject (whether it is nature, film, or study) to gather information and simplifying it to its essence; using qualities of colour and texture for a clean finished illustration. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to indie/alternative music, watching period films or Netflix hits, and scribbling down every idea that comes into my imagination to refine later.
